When your family is from Italy and loves jewelry, what else can you do, but bring the treasures to the states and start your own business. That is exactly what Via Massena owner Sacha did. She was always looking for that special something to stake her claim in the online jewelry business, but was unsuccessful until she enlisted a family friend to help her out and now she has made her dream a reality.
Each floating or firm necklace is handmade by an Italian artistan and is completely unique. The pieces are elegant, sophisticated and chic, just like the woman who wear them. The necklaces are classic pieces that can complement any wardrobe, from jeans and a tee-shirt, to business and even black tie and fit closely to the neck and gives the illusion of beads/stones floating.
You will see from her official website that Sacha uses her Cartfly store as her official shopping cart and has had great success bringing her gorgeous creations overseas.
Amanda Mickle is a 23 year old fashionista. After working for 6 years in the retail industry she wanted to do things on her own terms. "I had a lot of ideas and thoughts but didn't have the income to just drop my stable full time job to invest in an idea that might not work out." She now buys, sells and ships the "trendiest products at the best prices" out of her New York apartment under the name AM Fashion Studio.
How did you find out about Cartfly? I first decided to do some research and see what other fashion
boutiques were doing to promote their websites and I found Cartfly!
I decided to do a test run and post some of the products that I had
purchased to sample. The feedback I got about the products was
amazing!
What advice can you give people who want to start an online business? My advice for starting an online business would be to make sure you do your research, ask A LOT of questions, read up on the kind of business you want, and it doesn't hurt to get some experience working for someone who already has a successful business. Don't quit your full time job until you're really bringing in a steady amount of money. I know I still haven't quit mine. Oh, and I would totally recommend using Cartfly!
How many different products do you sell? I sell all fashion related products, but no more than what can fit in my small storage closet at my apartment. I'm running this completely on my own right now until my customer base grows. I'll probably never have more than 50 items posted on Cartfly at once and I usually order my products in packs of one or two. So the good news is that the products will always be changing!
What are some of your best sellers? My best sellers so far have been my fashion tops, which is kinda funny considering at first I was just thinking I would sell fashion accessories like handbags and wallets.
What can you tell me that people might want to know about you/your company? Something interesting people might want to know about my business is that I am doing this entirely on my own. I haven't taken out any loans, and like I said, I'm not renting any space...no storefront YET. This operation is entirely running off my lap top out of my apartment. The success of my company is relying on all of the non-paid time I put into it. As of right now, anytime someone purchases products from my Cartfly store, the money goes right back into providing my customers with bigger and better merchandise and expanding my customer base!
Why should people do business with your company? People should do business with my company because I have built this entire thing from a simple idea. I'm using tons of experience to truly give the customer what they want, fashionable products at affordable prices. I love the creative process of hand picking every product and being able to personally answer emails from customers with questions. I am entirely open to new ideas and suggestions too! On top of all that doing business with my company will continue to allow me to truly do what I love and hopefully will allow me to open my own boutique!! Which is the goal at the end of the long road ahead of me.
How has Cartfly helped you? Cartfly has helped me in so many ways. It took the stress off of paying someone to build a website for me when I didn't know if I could afford it, or if I would understand how to change it when I needed to. The fact that Cartfly is absolutely free unless you make a sale has helped me to really get out there a lot sooner than I would have otherwise. It's been a great way to introduce a new company without any overhead or worry about sinking into debt before it got a true chance. It's made a 3 year idea come to life.
